this quote is from zizek’s famous nitebeat interview - in this case, i think he actually really wanted to admit it, out there on national american television, that the guy people had been listening to all along was actually a *gasp* red!! (its the very last comment he slips in at the end as they run out of time). in this case i think it’s in fact awesome that he says, pretty nonchalantly like its commonplace (which is certainly isn’t in the usa), “as a marxist” — how often do american people here that on prime time tv???
