Originally an advertising slogan used by Deutsche Bahn, “Alle reden von wetter. Wir Nicht.” (“Everyone talks about the weather. We don’t.”) was co-opted by the Sozialistischer Duetscher Studentenbund - German Socialist Student Union - for this poster in 1968.
The following year Ulrike Meinhof used the phrase as the title and opening to an article in ‘konkret’ magazine that attacked the Federal Republic of Germany’s attempts to expel Bahman Nirumand for criticising the Shah of Iran, a close ally of the West.
